Candace Boahene is a Ghanaian-American artist from Brooklyn, NY. She received her BA in Journalism from Michigan State University and an MFA in Theatre from Columbia University. She has performed in theater productions such as School Girls; The African Mean Girls Play with the Pittsburgh Public Theater, Romeo and Juliet with the Classical Theatre of Harlem, In the Red and Brown Water, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Mister Paradise (Columbia University). Off-Broadway credits include To All the Black Girls Who’ve Waited (Ars Nova) and Water (The Tank NYC). Her independent film work includes Chain Link and Phrenia.

In addition to her work as an actor, Candace is also a committed community-based director. She has directed multiple theater and performance productions at her local church, creating opportunities for emerging artists and fostering artistic expression within her community.
